How to Install a Dual Fuel Towel Rail Radiator

*This instruction is for standard towel rails, the steps might slightly differ depending on the towel rail supplied - please consult the additional instructions supplied with towel rail if needed

Step 1 - Insert the electric element

Get your electric towel rail ready. Start by flipping it so the bottom faces upward, you’ll notice more bars and two blanking plugs there. Unscrew two of those plugs, then gently slide the electric element in and screw it in. Take it slow - it’s normal if a little water spills out during insertion, since air can get trapped during shipping. Just have a cloth handy to wipe things down as you go.

Step 2 - Mark drill holes on the wall

Check that the wall is strong enough to support the weight of the radiator.
Mark bracket positions and drill holes.

• Supplied wall plugs are 8mm and suitable for solid walls only
• Use alternative fixings for plasterboard or other wall types

Fix the bracket bases to the wall using the supplied screws and washers.

Step 3 - Attaching bracket stems to the wall

Attach the bracket stems loosely to the radiator using the bracket fronts and screws. Align the bracket stems with the wall-mounted bases and position the radiator.

Step 4 - Attaching bracket fronts to the stems

Tighten the central bracket screws securely. Insert and tighten the mini screws underneath the bracket bases to secure the stems.  Fit the cover caps onto the bracket fronts. Some brackets need to be rotated to face the directions of the bars as shows on the diagram above.

Step 5 - Cut and strip the cable

Cut the cable to the required length and strip approximately:

• 40mm outer sleeve
• 5mm insulation from each wire

Step 6 - Connect the cable to a connection unit

Connect the wires to a fused connection unit with a 13A fuse and secure the cord clamp. Fix the connection unit to the back box and tighten the screws.
